Recycling is the method of collecting and processing old materials which would otherwise be deposited in landfills. Throwing them at landfills does not protect you from pollution and neither does it extend the shelf life of the device. However, giving them to organizations that recycle them and make those products reusable is a good option. In fact, at times the metals extracted from these waste materials are used for manufacturing other products which could be useful. 3. Re-manufacturing- The materials that are recovered from processing facilities are used to manufacture other useful stuff. Some common household items manufactured are paper towels, newspapers, plastic, aluminum, glass, soft drink containers, plastic detergent containers and also steel cans. The recycled materials are sometimes used in various innovative ways like glass is used in asphalt which in turn is used for paving roads. Extracted plastic can also be used in carpeting and in park benches.
  4. Buying recycled products- Shopping for recycled as well as new materials from recycled products will offer an energy efficient item. There are 3 types of items related to recycling.
